The Molly Fitzgerald Fund
2007 Beneficiaries

Charitable Contributions Made in 2007 by The Molly Fitzgerald Memorial Fund:

  • Three scholarships were awarded to deserving Marshfield High School seniors. A scholarship was awarded to a student participating in dance, field hockey and track.
  • $1000 contributed to Marshfield Grad Night Live, an all night supervised party on graduation night designed to allow kids to enjoy a safe graduation night with their classmates.
  • The residents of Carolina Hill, a sanctuary for homeless and battered women and children, were treated to a day at the Marshfield Fair in August. In collaboration with the Marshfield Agricultural and Horticultural Society (the Fair operators) we gave several dozen residents free admission, free rides and a small stipend to spend for food and entertainment at the Fair.
  • New uniforms were purchased for the Marshfield High Field Hockey Team.
  • New lifesaving devices called EZ-IO units were purchased for each of the three Marshfield Ambulances. The EZ-IO is used to administer IV medication directly into the bone marrow of critically ill patients. A board member heard of a child who was saved from death (a pool drowning similar to Molly's) due in part to the use of this device. The Marshfield Fire Department did not have this device because of budget constraints. The Molly Fund purchased 3 devices and funded the training of the paramedics.
  • $1000 contributed to Marshfield Community Christmas which brings Holiday cheer to over 300 needy Marshfield families every year.
