What We Support

What does the Molly Fund do for our community?

We have established scholarships for Marshfield High School Seniors in Molly’s memory for Field Hockey, Dance and Track. To date we have awarded over $62,000 in scholarships.

Built Dandelion Park, a beautiful memorial park in the midst of downtown Marshfield which is enjoyed by so many in the community.  The park is maintained by the Molly Fund and is home to our free programs Stories in the Park our summer reading series, our annual holiday tree lighting celebrations and pumpkin carving at Halloween.

We started Molly Movie Mania, a series of free family movie showings outdoors on the Town Green.

The Molly Fund created and funded Molly’s Kitchen, a fully equipped commercial grade kitchen at the Boys & Girls Club and Family Center.  Also supported a “Chefs in Training Program” at the Club, helping kids learn cooking skills and the basics of nutrition.

The Molly Fund has contributed over $110,000 in support of Grad Night Live, Community Christmas, Sowing Seeds, and the Marshfield Food Pantry.

Every summer we treat residents of Carolina Hill, a sanctuary for women & children, to a day at Marshfield Fair.

The Molly Fund created a sports grant program that has aided sports team and cultural organizations at MHS. Through the program we have purchased uniforms, equipment and funded training for many MHS teams including baseball, cheer, dance team, soccer, field hockey, hockey, softball, tennis, lacrosse, gymnastics, and wrestling. We also have sponsored the Summer Youth track series through the Marshfield Roadrunners.

We created Project Embrace in partnership with local realtors to address the needs of the over 90 homeless children in the Marshfield School System. To date we have donated over $30,000 in assistance.

We donated $4,500 to send Marshfield Middle School students to Washington DC and $7,000 to send the Marshfield High School band to perform in California. We sponsored the Marshfield High School Inven-team and Mock Trial team.

We donated $55,000 to the Marshfield Boys & Girls Club to create the Molly Fitzgerald Pavilion. The Pavilion serves as a base for their summer camp program.

Contributed funds towards the Martinson Elementary School Playground. Supported the PTO’s at both Daniel Webster and South River Elementary Schools.

Supplied defibrillation units for Rexhame Beach and the Martinson Elementary School and life saving equipment for the Marshfield Fire Department.

Purchased books in Molly’s memory for both the Ventress & Clift Rodgers libraries. We also supported the Friends of the Ventress Library.

Supported the Friends of Music and the Marshfield High School Music Outreach Club. Helped defray the cost of summer art classes at the North River Arts Society. Sponsored the cost of the musical entertainment at the Senior Center‘s opening celebration.

Contributed $14,000 toward community outreach through the Covid crisis to get meals to families with children.

Our furry friends matter too! We have supported the Massachusetts Audobon Society, the Marshfield Animal Shelter and the new Marshfield Dog Park.

Along with our annual donations this year, the Molly Fund has:

  • funded training for the Marshfield gymnastics team;
  • purchased warm up jackets for the MHS Field Hockey team and helmets for the MHS Boys Lacrosse team;
  • funded summer camp at the Boys & Girls Club for 25 McKinney-Vento students under Project Embrace

The Molly Fund is excited to be a vibrant part of the Marshfield community, to continue to enrich Marshfield’s youth, and to keep Molly’s giving spirit alive. We are always looking for new ways to reach out to our community.
